The Interior before Restoration
Summer 2003

It's globally not too bad

Leather seats are in pretty good shape, even if they seem not very nice on these pictures

The interior of the trunk is in pretty good shape but the spare tire cover is missing

Steering wheel, dashboard and center console are in good shape

Restoration Program
Summer 2003

- Removal of all seats, carpets and trims...
- Removal of the dashboard
- Removal of the gas tank and everything in the trunk
- Inspection, cleaning and restoration of removed parts
- Reassembling when body work is completed

Goals, Doubts and Dreams
Summer 2003

- Again and again, my goal is not to have everything new
- I hope it will not be too costly to replace all the carpet pieces, it would be nice to do that
- I hope I'll be able to put the dashboard parts back together
:-)
- I would like to find an original spare tire cover (but it's not so important anyway)

Restoration
2003-2004

Disassembling is quite fast for the interior, there is less rusty bolts and screws

The dashboard and wiring harness are more difficult to remove

There is not so much left. We can easily see the amateur steel sheet work made on the floor panels

As for the floor, some steel sheets in the trunk have been sadly replaced

The result of leather treatment is impressive, it's shiny!

Front seats are nice and the back seat is gorgeous

I used a renovating and then a tinting product for all leather pieces, the result is impressive, it's motivating! Leathers are in very good shape, in fact the first pictures I took of the interior, on top of this page, are quite pessimistic.

I keep all carpet pieces, even the most damaged ones, because I'll use them as a pattern to eventually make my own if I don't buy a complete new carpet set.
